Security Light & maintenance

[2000 GMC]

While driving home on Thursday the SECURITY light came on, on the message center. At a red light I quickly put it in park, turned off the engine and restarted it and the light stayed off. Well this morning same thing happened. I'm taking it in to have it checked out. Any ideas on what it might be or maybe the computer just needs to be reprogrammed?

Truck has 41K on it. This is one of the reasons I’m glad I went ahead and purchased the extended warranty.

 

One other questions, I do my own maintenance. GM picked up the tab on changing the transmission fluid at about 31K. What other maintenance do you guys recommend I do now?

It sounds like a problem in the door switch... My security light only comes on when the door is opened.
