Misfiring Engine

I have a 2003 Silverado 4.8L that hesistates, backfires thru the intake, shudders and shakes when it is first started. This occurs if the engine is cold or hot. Yes, the check engine light comes on. To date I have run "Heet" and changed the fuel filter.

Truck has been to the dealer, but he said they found a mis fire code, but couldn't duplicate it.

Anybody got any ideas.

A freind of mine has had a few of his injectors, plugs and wires replaced under warranty for his 8.1L. They also changed the fuel filter twice, and dropped and cleaned the fuel tank... It's running better but still not 100% according to him.

His computer did record a missfire condition also.
