Ok, Iv'e had my truck since new for 14 months without a problem since the dealer replaced a door lamp when new! I came out of work today and hit the keyless entry, the doors unlocked but the parking lights did not flash. I didn't think much about it since it was 90+ degrees in VT today and I was dying anyways!! Then went hooked up the boat after dinner. All trailer lights were working prior to leaving. Came off the lake and found out that the trailer lights were'nt working and blew the trailer parking light fuse. Replaced it and it blew again. I think this is unrelated to the keyless entry thing since I had this problem last year when mice got in the trailer and chewed the wires. I will troubleshoot this tomorrow. I drove home with the 4 ways on and noticed then that the foglights won't come on. checked the TBC fuse at home and it is good. Is it possible that the BCM crapped out? Maybe it got to hot out today!!

sounds like a pinched wire. My old truck did the same thing when I put on a towing hitch. Inside the frame was the wiring and when i put the square locker inside the frame, i didn't move the wiring harness totally. When I torqued the bolt up to the hitch and frame, I grounded the wire and when the lights came on, a fuse kept blowing. I had to take the hitch off and coat the wires with plastic again.

My 2002 Silverado's fog lights just crapped out one evening for no reason. I tried trouble shooting but to no good. Took it to the dealer and they "flashed" the computer and they came on. They didn't charge since it is still under warranty. Just my $0.02......

Trailer lights - is it possible that the connection got wet when putting the boat in or pulling it out since you said they worked on the way there?

Fog lights - is it possible they do not work when the flashers are on? I don't know I have not tried this but maybe GM wired this up this way. Grasping at straws on this one.

Also the fogs could have a bad ground. I installed mine myself and took it to the dealer to flash the computer. When it left the dealer they worked. Later that night they did not. I grounded them to the horn bracket, which for some reason was go enough the first time but quit. I took the ground off and mounted to a bumper bold and they work fine. Tested the horn mount again and nothing. Do not know why it did that or why they worked the first time but they have worked ever since moving to the bumper bolt.?????

I looked at the boat trailer tonight and found that the rear clearance light bar (for over 80" wide trailers) was shorted out. Disconnected them and ordered a new one. They are supposed to be submersible, but I guess they don't last forever. I don't disconnect the harness because the trailer has surge brakes and needs to be hooked up to lock out the solenoid for them and be able to back up the trailer.

Called service department and made appointment since truck is on warranty to have the foglight/keyless entry confirmation problem looked at. This is going to cut into my fishing for the morning, but I gotta have my truck working right!
