MyLink and iPhone Text Message Sounds

Does anybody else notice that when your iPhone is blue-toothed into the truck that your text message "ding" no longer sounds? It will if I select Source then go to bluetooth, to listen to music or something and then it will sound through the truck.

 

Anybody else know how to fix this or have similar issues?

 

EDIT: I should mention that this is the MyLink 7" screen and I'm not talking about AppleCarPlay. That works fine. I'm just talking about hopping in the truck, turning it on and driving and once the phone pairs to the truck, if I get a text message my phone itself will not ding if I get a text.

If you go to your Bluetooth devices, click the (i) next to Chevrolet MyLink and then enable notifications it may show up on the screen for you.

i also have the 7" iob system and i dont receive any text notifications. also i dont have the show notifications tab option
