96 k1500 speedometer/tachometer issues

Today on my 96 k1500, my speedometer and tachometer quit working. I was switching the truck from 4wd to 2wd when I noticed the P R N D lights quit working. I didn't have time to look into it right then. When I left for work a few hours later, I saw that the speedometer and tachometer, along with the lights to P R N D were not working. Everything else in the instrument panel is working. I drove it to work with no problems with shifting. Any advice on what could have happened and what I need to do to fix it? Thanks in advance.
