Replacing 3M Tape for Body Side Molding

Hello,

 

Seems most are going to painted and I want to go all chrome.

 

Picked up a set of used Chrome body side moldings to replace my painted silver ones on my 17 LT.

 

Peeled and cleaned all the old 3m tape off.

 

Anyone have success replacing the tape with the Auto parts store 3M tape on there molding? Don't what my molding coming off because I was too Cheap to buy brand new moldings from the dealer!!!!!!

Did my 5 wheel trailer molding that came off. bin on for 3 yrs and NO problems . Just sure your molding , and the area on the doors is clean .
