Ride quality

I have recently started riding w/a friend to work - me 1 wk, him 1 wk. He just bought a 2003 F150 ex cab just before we started riding together. This week was the first week I rode w/ him and I must say my Silverado rides much better than his F150. I don't know if the suspension is that much tighter (stiffer) on his F150 but I could feel every little bump we hit!

Something else I noticed was a lot more cabin (road) noise at highway speeds.

No flame intended towards Ford, I'm just stating my observations from riding in his truck.

BTW- our ride to work is 30 miles one way so it's not like we just drive down a few bumpy roads to get to work!

Just FYI

I'm not a big Ford fan ether. I know I would never buy one, that's for sure.

I used to have to drive Ford trucks and vans for work, and one thing I remember really hating, was the shift points on heavy acceleration. I remember when trying to pass someone and the passing gear would kick in, it sounded as if the engine was going to blow! And the tranny never shifted smooth coming out of the lower gear in that situation either. It kinda hung in gear a few extra seconds, even when you let off the gas.

IMO the truck never felt as solid as a GM either.

I understand the new '04 F150 should ride much better than the current truck (which BTW will still be sold in '04 also as an F150 "Classic" edition or something like that)

Yeah, it will be called the Hertiage edition. Chevys have the best ride out of all pickups.

Dodge's quality in the new pickups has improved immensely though I must say. At my work we pull trailers (20,20,24) with 2500's. the 00 sucks, ride, morning its a b!tch to start 360 has no umph with a loaded enclosed trailer. 02 same model is night and day. the 03 (old body style) is simply no comparison to the other two.

None ride as well as any chevy. Thats a given, chevy's are 8-12 thou more for less truck (options not quality)
