Hey was up everyone, just bought a 96 silverado today. I know these trucks are prone to getting stolen. Just need some advice on preventing that. Was thinking of getting a remote start but then i can't add any kill switches. So maybe a push to start and couple fuel cut off switches and battery disconnect. Any body got any suggestions or want to share what they have

Along with the stock alarm system and onstar the dealer installed this. Plug comes out truck goes nowhere. Allegedly

Is it completely so that you just can't turn it on or were nothing works and have to keep reseting your stereo ?

  Ok well I guess Lake disagrees with me on a few points. I call oil consumption pretty basic. Rudimentary. He calls it "really complicated." I think 1qt consumed in 3k miles is a lot. He says that's normal. In 22 minutes, he'll use his natural talent to explain oil consumption to anyone watching this video. He covers everything from obvious engine damage to how normally functioning healthy engines consume oil by design. Lake explicitly states how you drive will impact oil consumption. Shut up and watch:

  Check for broken bolts holding the exhaust manifolds to the heads, common problem. Dorman makes a repair piece if you find you have broken 1s and don't want to do the surgery to replace them

  My dealer says it's the 6.6 from the HD modified for the 1500's. So, my money's on the 6.7.
