We have a 2010 Cadillac SRX, and it is needing a transmission flush or change. Does anyone have this type of car, and can anyone tell me if I should go with a drain and fill or a flush? On the driver side half of the transmission towards the front of the vehicle there is a small bolt that sticks out of the case. That is the drain plug. Vehicle off, you should get 5-6 quarts out of there. I'd do it after it runs for a few minutes, then let it settle for a few minutes that way its warm and flows out good. Torque spec is 106 lb in. To fill, there is a cap on the top of the transmission from under the hood. Screws more or less into the front cover of the transmission. Has a dipstick as well. I'd throw 4-5 quarts, and then drive it. Before you check it and top off, shift the PRDNL a couple times, waiting 2-3 seconds between each shift. The fluid has to be at 180-200 F operating temp before checking, hence my recommendation to drive it. Or you can idle it for a bit with 800-1000rpm in park to heat it up.
