Bad Wreck

On the way to Bristol the other day, only 1 mile from my dads house, we drove upon a wreck that had just happened. 2 Chevy fullsize trucks, 1 Z71 Ext cab and 1 2wd Ext cab hit head on driver corner to driver corner. Combined speed was probably over 100 MPH. Needlees to say both drivers died on impact.

It looked to me like the 2wd driver was pulling a trailer and tried to go too fast through a lane shift in a construction zone. I could not tell if either was wearing their seat belts or even if the airbags had time to deploy. Although if the airbags did deploy, it probably made the situation worse. Both drivers were hanging out of their respective doors.

Guys, wear those seat belts, watch out for the other people on the road, and when you a pulling or towing a heavy load, be extra careful and take your time.

2 lives ended that day over an honest mistake that probably could have been avoided.

You would think that people would learn but you still see people posting how their truck tow at 75-80 mph fully loaded. Just because a truck is rated at a particular weight doesn't mean it can be done at those speeds. my 2cents
