the owners manual for my 2003 2500 hd with tow package and dual batteries states not to put a fuse in stud 1 in the under hood fuse panel. How do you get power on the seven pin connector to charge trailer battery.

thanks

I didn't see that in my owners manual. Where does it say not to fuse it (what page#)?

My 2003 2500HD has dual batteries, towing package, and Stud #1 is fused. Seems to work just fine.

it states on page 5-115 under stud 1 auxiliary power(single batery and diesel only)/dual battery (tp2) do not install fuse.

thanks

Hmmmm...... :cool::lol:

Since mine is a diesel, it must be OK to have a fuse there. What's confusing is that diesels have dual batteries as standard equipment, so that seems contradictory.

Do you have a diesel? If so, it should be OK to put a fuse there. Or do you have a gas engine and Dual Battery option?

I have the 6.0 gas engine

I guess I'd check with your dealer.

My 2003 2500HD D/A dual battery has a fuse there.

My 2001 1500 5.3L single battery has a fuse there.

Both work just fine.

My 1500HD came with the Aux battery option and tow package and did not have to use the fuse that was attached to the electric brake harness that was in the glove box.
