Installing GM Tow Mirrors and Harness

I'm finally getting around to installing OE GM tow mirrors and door harnesses in my 16 Z60 Silverado. My question is should I disconnect the negative terminal while doing this?

I would suggest you disconnect the negative cable, may not be necessary, but it's easy to do.
