"CLANK"

Hi I'm a newbie to site and truck . I have been having trouble with 98 K1500 Silverado Z71 . I hit a bump and hear a Metal to Metal CLANK . Dealer say's they can't re-create it .(Impossible) just hit a pothole! Any help or sugestions would be Gratefull ! Thanks

I had a similar problem, turned out to be a broken sway bar link in the front end of the truck.

Other ideas... Is the exhaust hitting something ? broken exhaust hanger ?

When my sway bar link broke, the bottom part of it fell into the lower control arm. It still rattles a little once in a while. the only way to get it out would be to cut open the arm, not.

Could your rear springs be slapping?

had a clank/rattle come from a broken shock on a one ton.

I've got the clank on the rear end only. I suspect exhaust but leaf spring slap is possible. Same 98 k1500.
