Currently, my best mpg is 17-20.... I'm looking to bring my average up to about 22mpg.

Any ideas how?

I already installed a K&N Air Filter.

I use Valvoline Synthetic Oil.

I have Arizonian Silver Edition Tires.

Tires web page

What else should/could I do?

Thanks,

The mileage your getting now seems perfectly normal to me.

Seems pretty normal to me as well.

As far as mods...You could spend money on FIPK, plugs and wires, a chip, and a bed topper.

But these things would cost waaaay more than what you might save in gas costs. More than likely, you will like the added 12 butt dynohorses, and will keep your foot in it.

Just use cruise, and keep the RPMs under 2 grand, and you will get pretty good mileage. :chevy:

I have had three GM trucks now, a 95 Tahoe, a 98 Z71 Silverado, and my 2002 GMC Sierra.

With my Tahoe I chipped it, used synthetic Mobil 1 Oil, and had a single side out Gibson on it, with a K&N filter. Got 20mpg hwy.

with the 98 Silverado, all I did was put in a K&N, a Gibson Dual Sport cat back, and Syntheic Mobil 1, got 18mpg...I think the BFG A/T KO's were a little soft, mileage dropped when I went from 265's to 285's and siped the tires for winter.

In my 2002 all I have is a Access Roll top tonneau cover,K&N filter and Mobil 1 and I am getting 21-22 hwy easy on it, lots of cruise control. I am lookng at exhausts now, and wondering what to do about tires. I may just get a set of those black American Racing mags, and throw some BFG's on for winter, as the compound seems to slow the mileage down a bit.

Good luck. :D
