Cold-air intake + T.B. spacer

I'm slowly starting to fix up my 2002 5.3L Silverado. I've heard that some cold-air intakes are'nt compatible with throttle-body spacers (due to space limitations w/ the fan shroud)) Does anyone use both, and if so, which intake system works out?

One of my friends has a 2000 Silverado 1500 with the 4.8. He has the Volant air intake and a throttle body spacer. Had the problem with the space limitation between the tube and the fan shroud when he put in the throttle body spacer. To fix this, all you need to do is shave down the end of the plastic intake tube, then it should fit with the throttle body spacer.

It would probably be a better idea to cut the fan shroud down a bit to fit better, as its not nearly as important as the plastic intake tube... I have a cold air setup with the spacer and I just have to bend the shroud out of the way a bit. Eventually I'll cut the shroud instead of just bending it out of place, but until then it works fine.

If you're really worried about the stuff fitting and don't want to cut it, save yourself 50 bucks and skip the spacer. I installed mine and while I noticed a tiny difference it was probably just my imagination. With our vortec engines the intake manifold is already swirled inside, and the spacers probably don't really do much of anything.
