Remote control Lights

I have a 2001 Sierra 2500HD that did not come with fog lights.

Has anybody use the remote control on/off lights. Looks like they

would be easier to install.

Tell me what you think, please :jester::lol:

How much easier can the remote controlled ones really be, you have to run power for the lights regardless. The switch is just a few more wires although they are through the firewall. No biggy though, doesn't get much more basic.

Besides don't LS + trucks come pre-wired for the factory fogs. You have to have the BCM reflashed to activate them. check out www.jpcustoms they have a kit

Hey 1st Post here!

I have had a remote system for my off Road Lights for about a year, "Ignitor" is one of the product names. They are just as much work to intall. if not more.

I use 2 remotes. One for the Brush lights and the other for the Bar. (note had to add extra relays to the remote for the bar) Most you can run thru it is about 200 watts. (20/30 relay).

I also suggest that you still need to run an indicator lamp to the dash also. I didn't and was running the highway with my overheads on (daytime). Cop was understanding

Its great for camping, working outdoors or what ever. Gets Dark, Remote start the Truck and hit the lights from 150 ft away.

Is is Practical, Nope actually more work. But a novilty.

i had some pilot lights on my old Z71, i removed them from it before i sold it. it had a remote control. one of my friends got fogs for an 02. i hooked up the wireless box. all you have to do is run power and ground to it. that is no where as "hard" as running all the wires. i agree though. running the rest of the wires isnt too much harder.
