Welcome to the forum!!!

Is your truck a 4x4 or 2wd? Excab? etc...?

The 4.8L is a strong motor and alot more is left in it....

First off I'd recommend some exterior stuff like ventvisors and a bugshield and mudflaps. Then some boards or tubesteps.

After you are done outside, then pour the money into something like the Westers Garage PCM...

It's just a never ending money pit... LOL!!!

I copied and pasted the link and I see that you bought a black excab 4x4.... That is a darn good looking truck. :)

Search Ebay for a set of stock aluminum wheels, and then put a good set of tires on them....

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on the new purchase!! :) As Shaners was say'n, you will see that your truck is just a huge money pit wait'n to happen. I've survived my first year or so w/o many mods, but I have an extensive list I need to get done.

The first mod I may recommend is very simple....tint the windows! No need to roast as you go cruis'n through town. And if you are lucky, then you will be able to find a local installer to put limo tint all the way around for you like I did.

Secondly, I would consider a good exhaust system to let peeps know you got a beast under the hood. I would tell you a brand to get, but I'm still in the deciding process myself. A free mod might include de-badging your truck so it has a nice clean look. And some cheaper mods might include a 4 high light switch, fog lights (depending if you already have them installed), spray in bed liner, and as Shaners noted vent visors and bug shields.

The programmer will be ultra useful as well, just make sure you get a good one that will allow for all the functions you require. I have been snoop'n around and start'n to look, and it seems many options exists and everyone kinda has their preference. Either way, it's an important mod, as it will allow you to "fine tune" your truck.

Again, welcome to the board and good luck!!

Thanks for the input, I was checking out that 4 headlight mod, that will prob be the first,.

I want to change the air intake, what would be the best. And does a good programmer like the Preadator help the 4.8

Here's my shop web page.

As I noted before, I have yet to purchase a programmer for my truck but the majority around here seem to think Westers is the way to go. And yes, you can see some worthwhile gains from them. They are similar to the old computer chips from back in the day, but now with the programmer you can "change the chip" on the fly to different characteristics (especially useful when you need to take your truck back to the dealership). Also, some will allow you to read/clear codes and adjust for different tire sizes and what not.

Just be sure and do your research on the programmer. I don't think it's one of those items you go down and buy on impulse.
