Factory wheel balance... what's considered bad ?

This is my first post as I start into some personal mods on my month old Sierra. My first goal is to eliminate as much chrome as I can. I am starting with the wheel lug nuts as I got black spline drive lugs for my birthday. I stopped when I seen the balance weights on the wheels that made me say holly krap batman. Left front has a weight 1 inch wide by 3 inches long. Both rears have weights 1 inch by 2 inches and right front 1 inch by 1/4 inch. Somethings not right. Could be the rims possibly more likely the tires. Question is what's considered acceptable and what's not. I'm good with the front right but the other 3 seem a bit excessive. Anyone else have that much weight on there rims? I will say the weight they've installed has balanced the wheel assembly. they just look like doo doo on a shinny new wheel and there is this 3 inch long brake pad looking weight stuck on in the middle of a spoke opening. I tell ya that kind of stuff just does not happen in my industry. Just think for the kind of money we spend on these trucks they should look the part.
