Update on Steering Wheel Knock and TSB

The dealer repaired my truck. No more knock! The TSB is 00-02-35-003C. If the dealer's give you crap, lay it on 'em! My dealer, Quebedeaux Pontiac in Tucson, seemed to know right away what the problem was. I guess I'm not the first to complain.

Also, thanks for the good info. I haven't had this problem yet, but will be sure and bookmark for the TSB number in case it does become an issue.

Yes it is. Service manager said some slipped through the production line so the problem shouldn't come back after the TSB.

Hmmm... if yours doesn't come back you're the exception, not the rule. As far as I've seen, GM hasn't come up with a permanent fix. Unless you consider adding grease permanent.

If the TSB doesn't fix the problem, maybe a recall is in order. But I think recalls only deal with safety related issues. Like steering isn't safety related. I got the extended warranty, so I'll be taking it back to the dealer for the next 75,000 miles if I have to.

What was the age and mileage of the truck you took back to the dealer? Was it warranty work? Just wondered how long they would continue to "fix" the problem.
