2016 Silverado 1500 OEM Fog Light Replacement

Hey y'all, out of curiosity, has anyone replaced the front fog lights on their Silverado with cube led lights while still maintaining the factory fog light/aux switch. Is it as simple as splicing into the factory harness or does it go deeper with the relays and pins of the harness?

Rough Country sells a led light kit that plugs into the factory fog light plug so you still the factory button.  It has the lights and the brackets to mount then into the existing fog light holes.
