I want to swap out my 4l80E for an Allison in my 2000 3500 C/C Dually. It has a 454, so I would think that the Allison in an 8.1 configuration would bolt right up to is seeing that an 8.1 is basically a stroked 454. I understand that the Allison has a standalone PCM and that it only needs to be hooked into the TPS. My main question, is will the Allison fit directly on my tranny crossmember, or will I have to modify it, also I'm assuming that I will have to adjust my driveshaft length to accomodate the Allison.

 

Has anyone done this swap before?
