question about ford keys

got a few questions bout those ford keys. what are they actually and where do they go? how much do they lift the truck? do they affect the ball joints? where do you get them? do you have to lift the back end with them also? and what is the biggest size tires you can run after installing them?

They are the torsion bar adjusters and go on the inboard end of the torsion bars.

how much do they lift the truck?

They can lift as little as you like or up to about 3".

do they affect the ball joints?

I suppose if you adjust them all the way upthere would be extra wear on all front end components.

where do you get them?

At the local F**d dealer or at online stores such as FordPartsOnline.

do you have to lift the back end with them also?

No but if you lift the front higher than the rear you may want to.

and what is the biggest size tires you can run after installing them?

I would do a search here on the forum. Some guys are running 305's. It would depend on wether you have stock rims and the year and model of the truck. Hope this helps.
