Transmission codes

My truck 2016 LTZ with only 40000 miles just flashed the p0700 and p0711 codes both sound bad truck shifts ok but at times when going into reverse it really clunks any clues has to what might be going on rebuild service etc ? It is a 5.3 with the 8 speed no tans dipstick. Hope this does not mean a new tranny

That sounds like the trans temp sensor failing. Common problem on the 8 speeds. Do you get an actual transmission temp reading or is your gauge stuck at zero?

I do get a trans temp reading I cleared the codes and went around the block and they did not come back on yet
