Ive got 03s on my 99... You can get the new harnesses or just make your old one work.. I just had to cut some slots in my old harness to get the bulbs to stay in there.. Not that bad.. paid 45 bucks for both lights..

Like the others have said. They do fit! I went to a salvage yard and ripped 2 license plate lamp sockets off a 2000 Silverado. Wired them in and the socket fits perfectly into the extra bulb hole at the bottom of the tail lights.

Thanks! I got my taillights for $40 bucks from a guy in Texas. Then I got the license plate pigtail/sockets for $10 at a salvage yard. I originally got the grille from a wrecked Tahoe for $50. It was in great shape. I hit a deer not to long ago so it got replaced. I think you can get the grille off eBay fairly cheap.
