Transmission

I have a 2003 Z71 and have noticed slipping in the transmission or drivetrain when pulling away from a stoplight. It feels like it is stuck in a higher gear and doesn't shift all the way back to first. It only does it every so often and I asked the dealer last time I had my oil changed but they did not know what it could be.

Anyone else have this problem and any suggestions on what it might be?

Thanks

a few things to keep in mind. trans now adays are designed to slip. (the mushy shift) this is what the soccer moms want. They might have to drive it and they dont want a firm shift. They might bust a nail. as for it slipping off the line that does not seem right at all. i would suggest getting a BMM eletronic shift improver. it will firm up you shifts(stop slipping) and extend the life of your transmission. just a thought.

I'd take it back and have the dealer "flash" all current updates. I had a problem with my truck where it would rev up on a rolling stop and then slam into gear hard enough to "chirp" the tires... The dealer fixed it with by updating the computer, and the problem has never come back...
