got my 285s today

got my 285 75 16 yokohama geolander ht-s today and man do theses tires look great on my truck changed the looks of it all together gm should put the size on the 2500s the ride is not changed from the mickey mouse firestone from the factory these geos look awesome

285's are the prefect size tire for these unlifted trucks. Before I lifted mine, I had 285's and when I do it all over again, I will stay with 285's and not lift it. My friend has had Yokohama tires on his GMC for over 12,000 miles and he loves them.

how much low end and torque is sacrificed when going to this tire? I am very pleased with my power right now and dont want to do anything that will jeopardize it....although i do love the way those 285's look.. ..I have 4.10 gears, what would the final gear ratio be when moving to a 285? less than 3.73?

I did notice the loss of low end performance. I have a 3.73 gear and had 265s on my truck.

 

There will be a small loss, but it depends on what is more important to you. Starting with a 4.10 - you should be fine

I have been pleased with the performance of my BFGs 285s. They look great on my 2500HD and are wearing well. I to would like GM to put a bigger tire on big trucks from the factory but at least GM could give us a little wider rim that is moree appropriate for the oversized tire.
