Help deciding...BFG AT's or Wild country LTR

Hey eveybody,

I'm looking at getting looking a set of tires this weekend. I am looking at a set of BFG all terranins or a set of Wild Country LTR's. Now the Wild Country's have a 60,000 mile warrenty and are about $70 cheaper for the set. I am just trying to get some reviews and opinions.

Thanks in advanced,

MIke

I had a set of Wild Countrys from Les Schwab that had a bad belt and stuck me in the Olympic Mountains (my only set), I've had 4 sets of BFGs that have treated me like gold. You get what you pay for IMHO.

I aggree. BFG's are the way to go. Had mine on for 30K and still lots of wear let. And I bought em used from a member of the forum. Great tire.

I know a lot of people that swear by anything that comes out of Les Schwab, but none of them drive full side trucks. I've never had any reason not to like Les Schwab tires, but I'd still buy BFGs before I'd ever buy Schwab tires.

BTW, who is Les Schwab :cool:

I agree with the assessment of Wild Country. They are NOT of the same quality as BFG's or other major brand tires. When buying tires....you do get what you pay for.

Unless money is a real issue, and some of us have been there too, IMHO, go with the BFG's. :D

Les Schwab is a regional retailer in the NW, I bought from them when I was stationed in WA state. Here in PA you can buy Wild Countrys from several Mom & Pop outfits.

Funny...I thought Schwabs were everywhere. They sell those tires like it's their own brand.

Nope....I never heard of them in the midwest. Wild Country tires are sold by independent tire shops up here, and are considered cheap and of poor quality. I had a set on a previous truck and they lasted 30,000 miles. I tried to collect on the pro-rated warantee, but was denied. Their 60,000 mile warantee seems to be carved in butter, not stone.:cool:

Oh well, fool me once....shame on you. Fool me twice....shame on me.
