Mozilla web browser

I just downloaded this web browser called Mozilla, and it's nice! It might take a little bit of getting used to the layout, but it works great! I've got SBC Yahoo DSL and sometimes it seems to lag more than it should. With Mozilla, it works great! Its faster than the Yahoo browser, seems to be a little more space for some reason, and so far it hasnt let any pop-ups come in! Nice!

Mozilla is simply a linux browser made available to the Windows user. It's been around on linux for YEARS. I myself have used it quite a bit. It is a nice browser, the only problem is some sites specify the browser you need, so if you don't use Internet Explorer or Netscape you can't get in. And that sucks.

Yes, Mozilla is a very good browser! I would also *highly* recommend Mozilla-Mail (which is part of the Mozilla 1.6 suite) or Thunderbird (also at mozilla.org) which is a separate mail / newsgroup software (ie - it doesn't include a browser) over Outlook any day since the majority of viri out there are targetted at vulnerabilities in Outlook and other MS 'technologies'. (And I use that term loosely). On a related note, there are a few ways around the whole "this site requires Internet Explorer" thing ... If you want to use Mozilla, I believe you can still set it to identify itself as a different browser (like IE). Also, (and this is what I'm doing presently) you can go to toolbar.google.com and get the Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer ... the latest version will block pop-ups for ya. And it does a good job!

Just downloaded the Google toolbar to give it a try!!!

 

I've always liked Google and I have them set-up as the search engine if I type something in the Address Bar.

 

I don't really have problems with pop-ups, because my firewall takes care of that for me....

You will like it. If you are using IE....The google toolbar is awesome.

 

Mozilla is one of the best browsers out there. Tabbed browsing anyone?

I LOVE the tabbed browsing. You try the plugin called tabbrowser? It gives you LOTS of neat options for the tabs, including setting a GROUP of tabs as what opens when you launch the browser. Bookmark groups of tabs, close the browser with a bunch of tabs open and you can save that and have it open EXACTLY that way when you re-open the browser. SO many things you can do, it's incredible. Check it out if you haven't.

 

Oh yeah, I like the built-in pop-up blocker as well. Mozilla is an all-around nice program...
