Best place to put XM antenna

I'm getting ready to XM sat radio to my 1999 NBS Sierra truck. Where is the best place to put the XM antenna. Some say near the third brake light. What do you guys think? Does anybody have any pics of their XM antenna. Would the XM factory antenna work, if I found a used one?

I mounted mine off the third brake light. I ran the wires underneath the foam/rubber gasket surrounding the brake light and siliconed it together to (hopefully) form a seal. Kind of a PITA, but it works. Wires then run under the headliner, down the C-pillar, and then on a diagonal under the carpet straight to the center console where they meet up with the receiver. My setup is actually a Sirius unit, but it's the same idea.

I believe the stock XM antenna requires drilling through the roof, but if you're up for it and the connections are the same it should theoretically work.

You can find pics of mine in the sig link. Also, if you haven't bought the XM stuff, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend not using FM modulation. Sound quality with FM mod in mine was terrible, and now with a direct input it is awesome!
