3500 gcvw rating now 23,500??

According to what I just read, a Reg cab 4x4 Dmax Allison 3500 SRW, is rated to tow a 5'er of 16,800 lbs.

 

Therefore I guess 23500 is a good possibillity for GCVW.

 

Let's see if this is right...

 

truck wt. 5660

trlr wt. 16800

=

22460 lbs.

 

payload = 2568 - 1500 max kingpin wt = 1068 lbs payload.

 

 

22460 lbs + 1068 lbs payload = 23528 lbs for GCVW

 

(i'm not sure if this math is exactly right, but the weights/capacities are from Chevrolet)
