Got me a new one today...

 

no, not a new truck......but almost as good. Pulled up at the light next to a 5.9 dakota ssr, srt, or rst.....or what ever the hell they are called. He had some woman in there with him so i could only guess he wanted to impress her...LOL. Keep a long story short, i got him by about a truck and a quarter at the end of the run...(about 1200ft or so). I dont think he could believe a big full size truck could take his little dakota V8, but although i could tell he wasnt happy, he was cool about it. I was a little worried cause thats a lot of motor for a mid size truck, and i had never run one of those before....it was pretty quick but i think i expected more. It looked to be fairly new, i would say 2001- 2003 probably. Im not trying to get real slap happy cause i dont know what those things are rated or anything, i just love this freakin 8.1L, all day long it impresses me. Okay, im done gloating.

I had a Dakota RT for 2 years and they are very pathetic in the performance department.They run 17's stock.Any stock RT should be a easy kill for any HD powerplant including the 6.0 liter.

My friend at Hypertech tested the Dakota and said the tuning was pathetic. The horsepower potential is there but the computer technology is archaic.

Hey, a kill is a kill. I ran a Yukon XL 5.3L with my 92 4.3 blazer the other day and wasted it. Don't know what that proves, but it sure was fun.
