Crank sensor or fuel related

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My wife's 02 yukon XL 8.1 has developed a problem with not wanting to start and also stalling out while driving 45/50 mph.

The not starting deal happens when it is warmed up and stopped for a short time.

The engine turns over, but does not fire. If you turn the key all the way off and retry, it usually starts fine.

The stalling going down the road is strange.

It stalls, tach goes to zero, red battery light comes on.

Then it refires and keeps on running correctly on it own.

Any idea's on what could be the problem?

It is at the dealership today, hopegfully we can move past this and enjoy our new to us Yukon XL.

Dealer service guy said the 8.1's are know to eat crank and cam sensors.

Perhaps a fuel pump issue?

Thanks in advance,

Jim
