HELP! Broke lug stud off

Can anyone tell me what part it is I need to replace when I broke a lug-nut stud off my front passenger side? Any drawings/diagrams/pictures would be great!

You have to pull the rotor assembly from spindle and then knock the stud out through back of rotor with a big drift or punch. Hardest part is getting the rotor on and off as the stud is the easy part! Sounds like you are torquing them too tight. I would never exceed about 125 ft lbs with them.

Actually, What happened was I UNDERtorqued them. Knowing that over-torquing is bad, and not having my torque wrench handy, I guess under-did it. So, when I was 4wheeling a few weeks ago, my front tire came off, and sheared 2 studs off.

After that incident, I got fearsome and re-torqued them on the driver side last night, snapping one off

:jester:

I have a 4-day trail-ride coming up in a week and a half, and am driving 300 miles 1-way to get to it, so I've got my work cut out for me this week.

I got everything out and changed the wheelstuds out and put everything back to gether with fresh grease.

Working great now!
