Component Grounding

I've dismissed it several times, but i keep seeing grounding kits on ebay... do they work, and if so, why aren't the components grounded that well from the factory? 5+hp?

Friend of mine is a big stero/home theater buff. He was talking to me about that. Said it actually helps. Not much but it helped. I may give it a shot to see what it actually does. He said he would make me the cable.
