I have a 04 2500 hd 4x4 8.1 6in lift with 35in tires. My question is I want to change gears being that it came 3.73 should I go 4.56 or 4.10 I was thinkin 4.56.I used the hypertech to fix mph for tire change but on long trips abs and brake lights come on but comes on only long trips over 80 mph would a westers computer fix that?I read somewhere here where someone did a gear change and even after they had westers abs light would come on.Anyone know how you keep lights off? Any help would be appreciated.

Go with 456's I had the same lift and tires on an old truck and that's how I geared it, all around it was good except for towing heavy loads which made using drive instead of overdrive gear manditory, it would get the RPM's a bit high when I was trying to make time down the highway. But that was the only complaint.

Thanks for reply but why would it hurt towing I thought going with lower gear ratio was better for towing? Can't you tow in OD with the tow haul on?Anyone else know about abs light problem? Thanks knez

I believe the best bet for gears is the 4:56 gears especially with 35" tires. As far as the abs light & brake light, your speedometer must still be off because if it is off buy a certain % it will throw a light. You should double check your tire size that you put into the hypertech programmer.

I vote for the 4.56's which is what I am running with 33" tires. As far as the ABS light it will go off as soon as you reprogram for the new gears.
