my new truck

about a week ago, i got a black 04 silverado ext. cab, sb with a 4.8 engine. im thinking of putting a lift on it, around 6-7". i heard fabtech makes one for my truck but i heard its not that great. i dont know what brand i should look into. i was thinking of pro-comp. any opinions?

as for the wheels, i want the procomp xtreme alloys, 16x10's with bfgoodrich or procomp all terrains. thanks.

Gonna be SLOW with that motor and BIG tires. Do you ever carry anything in the bed? With a lift it is a PAIN to load/unload stuff.

Being that youll get good mileage already, I would swap to a 4.56 gear with a 33-35" tire for sure! Trust me! I just did a RCD for a guy and he loves it. No vibration in 4wd like alot of other kits. Went on easier as could be, no hitches, and totally complete. I know a buddy with a Procomp that gets vibration above 30 mph in 4wd. THAT SUCKS.

Another buddy has 35's and 4.10 gears and he definetely needs more gear, I was quick with the stock 31's but the big tire really is doggy. Good luck with your deciding.

Most of the lifts at that height require removing factory cross members and brackets that have to be cut off. That means it can't be returned to stock. If you have a warranty (Extended or Factory) you will also void a lot of it from the modification. As the other post stated, big tires will cut the gear ratio and power. Too much tire and not enough gear will harm the Trans and running gear because of extra strain on the components too. Just letting you know up front.
