Biggest Tires on a Z71?

Looking to see what is the biggest tire i can get under my 03 Z71, I have the torsion bars turned up and will be putting the tires on the stock rims. The reason I am asking is it seems the majority of people say 285/75s. But i have seen numerous trucks running 295/75s even a couple running 315/75s without lift kits.

Tell me what you think, or better yet what you have that is running properly without much if any rubbing. Thanks!

I am getting real tempted to turn up the torsion bars too. What kind of ride have you gotten after doing it? Did thurning them up degrade the ride to the point you are sorry for doing it except for the nice level look you get?

Well I have noticed no real effect. If anything i tightened up a bit and I like it. Good Luck But make sure you realign the front end or it will chew the tires off.

I asked a GM tech in person last Saturday, if I would need a realignment, and he said no I wouldn't, and that in no way it would affect any other parts of the suspension. Or void any warranty on anything else. But I'm not saying your wrong, thats just what one person told me. And I'm sure we have all had a tech be wrong at one point in our lives.

 

I raised mine up, and the ride is a little stiffer, and the only time I really feel it is when I hit several bumps in a row at the right speed. And then the truck feels like a see-saw going up and down.
