How did you tie the seat heaters into the remote switch?

With an extra $25 bucks! :flag:

I had it installed, so the guy did it, im not sure but my understanding is that he just tapped into the switch with the AUX chanel that the remote start has. So once the car is running, i hold down AUX for about 3 sec, and it acts as if I just pushed the heater button. So it comes on at High, if I pust it again for 4 sec, it goes to low, and again is off. works well!

I've installed a couple remote starts, and there is usually a wire or 2 that can be used to turn on the defroster, heated seats, etc. Personally, as an ex mechanic, I'm not a big fan of remote starts, just because all of the problems that I've seen with ones that have come through the shop. But, I will admit that about 75% of the failures that I have seen with these things have been a direct result of faulty installation as opposed to a faulty component. A good installer makes all of the difference. Good luck with yours...I'll think of you when I'm warming up my truck this winter with my cold butt :flag:

Oh yea, if anyone does decide to go the remote start route, don't get a cheap system. I've found that Viper and DEI seem to make the best stuff.

Could NOT agree with you any more! I have had a remote start in my last 3 cars, and have learned a LOT about them! 1st one I had installed and some HSchool punk installed it at the local radio shop, I think they took him off the window tint job that day for my install. THey didnt solder anything, it was a mess the remote start conflicted with the factory alarm, sometimes... THen one day I remote started the car and it freaked out and acted as if I was holding the key in the START position for 25 minutes! I had to have it towed, new starter, new alarm it was a mess!

So I have I shopped areound for a good installer, and I was impressed with these guys! All connections soldered, nice professional people, not a typical Circuit City operation.

Yes, and I am skeptical about the cheepos you see for 50 bucks....to me, you get what you pay for with that stuff! I have had viper in all of mine and the range is awesome, and never an issue! (When installed correctly!!) Also I am not a fan of the remote starts which use a voltage meter check as a signal to know the car is running...I'd have the Tach wire hooked up!!!

My 2 cents..

I just had the Viper 591 XV installed.  It's a 2 way system, so far I love it.  :flag:

I liked that too, but the remotes were a little to bulky for my taste. Is that the one with the LED lights or the LCD Display?

---Oh and as asked before it was just about 400$ to have that setup installed including seat deal.

Yeah, it is bigger than I would like. It has the LCD display. However, I am unable to see my truck from where I can start it at work. So for me, it's nice to know the truck is running instead of guessing.

I did not think it was cold enough in Tampa to have the bun warmer going.

Good thing you don't live were it gets cold. :flag:

But then with the AC on the heat on your back would feel good

Why the heck would you need remote starting and seat heaters in Florida? I can understand it if you live in Buffalo.... :chill:

I had one in my 98 and loved it until the system went hay wire and stopped working. The Passlock bypass failed and I could not start the truck at all. I had to uninstall the whole thing in the parking lot at work in front of students. I have been thinking about installing another for this winter, but am not sure. I just fixed the Passlock system and hope I do not have to have the module replaced. Anyone have a system that has been good to them? I am looking for a good one that is not known for screwing up the truck electronics.
