Front Brakes / Rotors what to get???

Recommended Posts

Need to do my front brakes. Rears were done a while ago with Raybestos HD rotors and Ceramic pads, working great so far with 20+K miles on them. Should I just get the same rotor / pad combo for the front as the rear or is there a nice rotor / pad combo that will improve braking performance warping resistance?

How about Powerstop or Powerslot rotors? Any good? Hawk brakes pads?

Thanks.

I guess it all depends what you're looking for. For longevity and low dust, a good ceramic seems to be the way to go. For performance, I've heard good things about Hawks and Powerslots. I have Praise Dyno cryogenically treated pads and slotted rotors front and rear, and I absolutely love em. Stops on a dime, no noise, very little dust. Got the whole deal with e-brake shoes for under $750 shipped to my door in New Jersey from their place in Texas. :seeya:

You could always go with a Bear system. Expensive, but effective.

Ditto on the Praise cryo stuff. Very good stuff, great performance, reasonable price. I even got the parking brake assemblyh for the rear and solved a very old problem!
