Exhaust install question?

Recommended Posts

Out of curiosity I get my Magnaflow single in dual out exhaust today and wondered what everyone has paid to have their system put on?

I stopped by the shop I always go to because the guy is pretty knowledgeable about performance. He said It would cost $150.00 and that I should have him weld the pipes together rather than use the clamps. He said the clamps still allow some exhaust gases to escape, thus causing a leak in the system.

1. Is this a good price?

2. Wouldn't welding the pipes together void my warranty?

3. Would it be worth having them welded together?

4. Has anyone tried to install a single in dual out before on the new style rc/sb?

Probally not a bad price, To me you get what you pay for with that stuff. if the guy is good take it there. Nothing worse than a hokey job where you get rattles or what not. I would agree and weld the pipes together it makes for a "job done right" for my 2 pennies..

That sounds about right, I paid around that for the install of my Magnaflow Single inlet, dual outlet... I had stainless tips already, so all he did was provide the pipe and weld it up... Good luck!

I just got it installed and all I can say is OMFG! This truck sounds mean as hell! I think I made an awesome decision by going with this Magnaflow! The second they started it up I've had an ear to ear grin :chevy:

I don't know what people are talking about when they say its quiet. I think its d**n aggressive sounding!

Cool deal, glad you're happy with it! $150 was definitely a good price. I did my Gibson myself, but I didn't weld the pipes (hopefully learn to weld one of these days). It doesn't leak as far as I can tell, but a little extra insurance never hurts...I wonder if it's too late to have them welded at this point, been on there 3 years...

Anyway, congrats on the exhaust! :chevy:
