lowering tahoe with torsion adjustments?

Basically want to lower 2 in front and 3 in back on a 2004 tahoe. Can this be done safely by loosening the front torsion bolts. This is on a 2x4, and what springs would you suggest for the back? I could do the rear springs myself, but i really dont want to have to put torsion keys in there as would cost me significantly more to do them. Has anyone done this, if so please post your results(curious about ride quality compared to stock). Reason I want to lower is I think it would be safer for my wife and kids, meaning less likely to rolleover if abrupt maneuvers are required. Thanks in advance.

Check out McGaughys suspenssion...they make great lower kits for the newer trucks/SUVs. They have knuckle front lowering kits with shorter coils in the rear...the t-bars don't get touched, so it's factory ride. I wouldn't decrank the bars 2 inches, I don't think you could even get 2" out of it without the bolts coming out. The kits are very reasonable, I'd just do it right, especially if you're doing to keep the family safe.
