'98 Electrical Problem??

My '98 GMC w/ 44K miles left me stranded today for the first time.  It was hot and I had the AC cranked up. Stopped for a minute and shut it off. Wouldn't restart until it cooled off for 20 minutes. Would crank but acted like it had no spark. Could this be a fuel pump relay? How about HEI? Took it to dealer who checked it out and said everything was fine (after taking ?). When it wouldn't start, the DRL indicator and both turn signal indicators were on (but not on outside the truck) even with the key out! When it restarted, everything was back to normal. Anyone out there had similar experience? Where do I start tracking this mystery down?
