Truck Race

If you missed the NCTS at Daytona, you missed one heck of a race!

Lots of passing, two truck tried out their wings (didn't work well), a few crashes and (groan) a finish under yellow. :D

I think NASCAR is gonna make up the rules as they go along again this year. There were many instances of trucks racing below the yellow line, but who gets called for it? Jimmy Spencer. And he doesn't get the standard "Stop and Go", he was told to "pass through the pits". Make up your dang mind NASCAR!!

They did the GWC thing, couldn't get it right, so they finished under caution.

My opinion:

Last lap crashes should not bring out a yellow flag unless the Start/Finish line is blocked. :smash:

If you are gonna throw the yellow, do at the time of the crash, not after NASCAR's "Bad Boy" gets passed and loses the lead.

I really like Jimmy Spencer, I know that he is not what NASCAR wants as an image, but dangit!, let him race with the same set of rules as everyone else.

I think NASCAR has a hard on for him to get him out of there.

But, congrats to Bobby Hamilton for taking the win. :(

I like him a lot , too, I'm just upset a little because I think NASCAR "took" the win from Jimmy

Elwood, you used to be right on top of the NASCAR updates. What happened?

The "pass through the pits" penalty was standard-ized last year. That is more common nowadays than the old "Stop and Go".

Was the last crash on the white flag lap or when the green came out? I thought it happened when the green came out. :smash:

I think the GWC finish deal is a one shot deal, meaning if there's a crash withing thos laps, the Green flag finish is "Void" (If you will). The call for a yellow finish was probably out of mercy as well. The fans in attendance probably got their money's worth none the less (I know I would've- those crashes were awesome!).

I don't have the Speed channel, burn in hell Armstrong Cable, but XM radio was saying NASCAR sent Spencer to victory lane but then gave the win to Hamilton? Why wouldn't they park them till they reviewed the tapes to see who won. How embrassing would that be.

The ending was pretty crazy at the end. According to NASCAR rules, they made the correct call. I felt that they took too long to through the caution flag though. It should happen immediately if it is going to be thrown on the last lap. If it is not thrown immediately on the last lap, I believe it should not be thrown at all.
