Air Bags - Firestone vs Air Lift

Recommended Posts

I am planning on one or the other of these to compensate for intermittant heavy loads up to GVWR (8600) in a 1500 HD. Want to keep as good a ride when lightly loaded and yet keep level and reasonable ride when fully loaded.

Both Firestone and AirLift make kits for this truck that replace the jounce bumpers and so fit between the bottom of the frame rail and axle jounce pad.

Any one with feedback and/or comments on which brand works better or holds up better? I know someone here had some bad luck with Firestone, but wondered what other experiences were out there?

Im running the SuperDuty AirLifts bags on my HD for about 2 years now and not a problem. I have the lines running back to the rear bummper and are aired up individual. In the winter I run 30psi on each side to hold the 700 pounds of sand to counter balnce the plow.

Thanks for the feedback.... I know both are good products, so I'll see which looks easier to install. I'll be running about 600 lbs regularly then another 2000 plus for road trips so I'll be right at GVWR. Probably do one of the on-board air set-ups also.
