Would I be wasting my money if I were to get a Wester Tune for this truck. It currently has around 130,000 miles. All stock except I'm running 285's. It runs great. I plan to keep the truck till it dies. Or, should I wait till I have to get a new truck? Thanks for the opinions.

If it runs good than tune it! You won't be wasting your money.

Vortec350 (charlie) has a similar truck to yours with way more mileage and got huge increases with his Wester's tune!

500 bucks is a bit steep for a tune on a old truck. Maybe you should look around Ebay for another custom tuner for a older truck too. I got a Hypertech there for $125 for my 2000 K3500 and it made a difference and it allows me to easily tweak for tire size and axle ratio at any time to get speedo dead on too.

Don't listen to snoman, he's never said any good about anything he didn't own.

Talk to Lyndon at Westers. He's straight up. If he says he can make it better he can. Who cares how old it is, you have a free credit upgrade to your next vehicle so its not money wasted.

And the price for a Wester's tune for the 96-00 Vortec trucks is $395, plus you can ususlly find a 10 0r 15% off sale! That and the lifetime upgrades makes it well worth it!!!
