I think tomorrow I'm going to tackle changing the fuel filter on the TB. Are there any special tools that I will need like a quick disconnect or just a wrench?

I would go outside and look but it's dark, cool, and raining.

I don't like to wait the full 30k -- I usually change them around 15,000 miles so they don't get crudded up.

I got it changed this morning. I smell of fuel pretty bad but after the drenching everything went pretty smooth.

Could you tell us what all was involved in the filter change?

There is one phillips screw that holds the platic bracket that clamps around the fuel filter. I took that out. Then, the hose coming from the tank and going to the engine had plastic clips that you can take a flat head screw driver and press down and the snap loose. I opened the fuel tank door to relieve pressure but a good amount of fuel still sprayed out. On my '01 Z-71 only a few drops come out using this method but oh, well I smell like fuel.

Slid the old filter out of the bracket and put the new in. Made sure I put the hoses on the correct sides of the new filter and re-tightened the holding bracket. Started it (which it fired on right away.) On my Z-71 it always takes a few tries for the system to re-pressurize.

Looked for leaks and did not have any and cleaned up and got a shower. :jester:
