Trans temp gauge retrofit

Would it be possible to install a factory trans temp gauge into the stock gauges where there is just a blank right now? I'd love to have one, theres a space for one and it'd look stock of course.

I bought the gauge cluster for a Silverado SS with white faces that already has the trans temp gauge for mine. You can also use the Escalade or Denali.

The company USSpeedo will do a 1 day turn around on YOUR gauge cluster with the tranny gauge. Looks factory. I dunno what it costs.

they have a gm part that is a replacement for that temp gauge. Just buy the replacement and put it in.

Or do what I did and just slap a new cluster in your truck.

When you slap the new cluster in your truck...

Does the temp guage automatically work? I assume due to mass production they'd have everything ready, but...if i just went out and found a cluster with the tranny temp guage on it, would it work?

Also, (i hope) ...would the odometer stay the same as it is on my truck?

For my 04, I just plugged it in and it worked, but the odometer was reading 0. I didn't really care because my truck only had 600 miles on it at the time.
