Does anyone know when to change O2 sensors?

I've heard, 50,000, 100,000 and whenever your "check engine" light comes on from dealers and autoparts stores.

Also, any mileage gains to be expected??

That's a question i would love to know the answer to also. I have heard the same. I have talked to many peep and get a differant answer all the time. The only true way to know from what i understan is test hook your truck up to a good scanner that will give you live data. at that point you can see how they are reading. As for MPG if they are about to go but havent yet i would guess you should get a bit more MPG. but then look at the cost of the O2 sensors and figure out how long it will take rthem to pay off. I'm going with the old if its not broke don't fix it.

I agree. At over $100 a piece, they should be fairly worn out before replacing.
