i have a 01 HD 4x4 6.0 with a G-80 differential. Now the problem is that it only work every now and then. Mostly at times when I need it the most. I have been on Eatons web sight and read all about function of the unit, but I still think Its crap. Any body else have same problem?? Is there a way to fix it??? Is mine screwed up??? If anybody can give some insight let me know. Thanks Mike

Mine locks everytime I make a right turn at a stop sign/light. If you can't feel the inside wheel spinning a little, I would guess you have a problem, but I am not sure of that. I have a pretty similar truck to you too.

Now it will lock if I'm on a straight stretch and its dirt or the roads wet, then I punch it, both tires will spin. Now sometimes when I turn left It will grab, but if its right then its a one wheel wonder. I also have noticed sometimes around my property, its one wheel and thats when I'm going slow. I'm getting ready to break out the welder and weld this sucker up!!!! I'll have a locker for sure! Thanks

Mine seems like it is locked more than not , I can feel it when turning either direction on dry pavement . Its been that way since it was new the dealer told me it would loosen up but im at 93k and its still the same. Its not to bad once you figure out how to drive on the slick stuff.

Those "posi's" are a POS. I've had 3 trucks with them. They suck. They never work when you need them. They are designed to supply power to the wheel with the most traction, thats fine, but most of the time both wheels are on the same surface. My driveway is about 75' long, with an incline up to the road. If the driveway is even barely snow covered, I have to put it in 4X4 to get out. One wheel will spin, then the rear end will just bang, bang, bang.... JUNK. I've even tried just touching the gas, still won't do it. It WILL work everytime backing up though. Tries to jacknife the truck everytime with the trailer on it.

The old clutch pack worked for YEARS. I don't know why they don't go back to that. This cam style set up doesn't cut it.
