1998 Tahoe Barn Door Leak

Hi all,

I have just noticed that my floor in the back on my 1998 Tahoe with the barn doors is soaking wet. I have removed all items..cause their soaked.

 

I looked at the moldings running around the whole frame of the doors and it seemed to be fairly caked with mud,debris, dirt, etc mostly the vertical pieces. I have tried to remove as much gunk as possible already.

 

Would it be advisable to remove the WHOLE one piece molding and give it a good cleaning as well as the Frame where is attaches to the door frame, and the put it back on?

I am thinking the proper path for drainage was blocked by the Gunk, what do you think?!?

I just can't see how the back side windows or back windows would leak like that.

 

The padding under the carpet is also soaked as well, so I am going to take the carpet out or at least get it to a point where the padding side can dry out some.

Any tips and trick on drying the padding out. I do have a Wet/Dry Vac, or should I try and let it dry naturally?

If you have rear A/C you might also confirm that the drain is flowing freely and not clogged. As it happens I helped a friend with a 2002 Suburban this past weekend who had a drain clogged. Once unclogged it probably drained a pint or more. Humid down south these days.
